Whitecaps FC Donate Funds
The Whitecaps continue to be a huge supporter of amateur soccer in BC and this time, it pay’s off for the game.
Attending a game this season at Empire Field is not only entertaining, it’s electric.
They entertain, they play and they support today’s youth. This alone say’s a lot in itself.
Prior to the start of the game at Empire Field the Whitecaps Foundation – announced a $200,000 donation to BC Soccer over three years to support grassroots programming.
Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi and Whitecaps Foundation director Sandy Hancock joined BC Soccer president Charlie Cuzzetto and executive director Bjorn Osieck at halftime of Saturday’s exciting 3-3 draw against Sporting Kansas City in MLS to make the donation presentation.
“We appreciate the support of Whitecaps FC and the Whitecaps Foundation,” said Osieck. “BC Soccer looks forward to working together with the Whitecaps to grow the game of soccer at all levels in BC through our partnership.”
“The Whitecaps’ inaugural journey into Major League Soccer (MLS) has changed the landscape of soccer in this province,” says Whitecaps FC director of soccer development Dan Lenarduzzi.
“This donation and presentation is a symbol of our support for BC Soccer and the growth of our sport across BC in the years to come.”
