Week 3 In PJHL Action

Friday night saw two games played in PJHL action with the first taking place in the Valley at the MSA Arena.

The Pilots defeated the Steelers 4-3 in O/T with Tebbutt notching not only the game winner, but his second of the game 54 seconds synching the win for the Pilots.

Abby other goals were off the sticks of Cowden, Pymar with Tebbutt adding the game winner in the Pilots victory. Scoring for the Steelers were Lan (a pair) and Belmonte’s lone marker.

In Ridge Meadows the Kodiaks won their second straight with a 7-4 win over the Flames. Leading the way for the Kodiaks was Higgs (a hat trick) with other’s coming from McHaffie (a hat trick) and a single from Lloyd.

Scoring for the Flames was Nakamura (a hat trick) and a single from Bartsch. Saturday’s schedule had 3 games on the slate and the Delta Ice Hawks went cross town to take on the Devils.

The Hawks proved to be too much for the Devils as they hammered the Devils 12-2. Leading the way for the Ice Hawks were Brito with a hat trick, Barden with a pair and other markers by Gattinger, Cuthbert, Chreptyk, Whiteley, Melna, Gordon, and Olson-Eyre. Replying for the Devils were De Waal and Vikich.

In Port Moody the Sockeyes shutout the Panthers 6-0 with scoring from Tait (a pair) and singles to Heinen, Swchwinghammer, Chichak and Campbell.

Getting the shutout was Payton Lee, who was in the hunt for the Vancouver Giants at the start of the season. in the last game on the schedule Saturday saw Ridge Meadows and North Vancouver battle to a 6-6 overtime tie.

The Flames got goals from Piluso (a pair), with singles going to Wallinger, Smith and Gilmore. Scoring for the Wolfpack were Creamore (a pair) and singles to Houck, Stephenson, Tanti and Johnson. Sunday’s lone game had the Grandview Steelers play host to the Devils managing to pull off a narrow 5-4 win. Elliott had a pair with singles going to Bifano, Hermary and Belmonte.

The scorers for the Devils were Norman, Smith, Painchaud and Wallace. Other scores during week three saw Delta hammer Grandview 8-2 Tuesday, followed by a 9-3 win by the Kodiaks on Wednesday over Port Moody and finally North Vancouver defeated North Delta 5-3.

Thursday’s action saw two games played where the Sockeye’s rolled over North Delta 8-1 and Abbotsford beat the Steelers 4-3 in overtime.
