It’s a long way from Sochi to Winnipeg, but Canadian Slopestyle Gold Medalist was named as one of the presenters at this year’s Juno awards.
Dara Howell, Canada’s Gold Medalist in Sochi was given the honour of walking the red carpet and officially giving the introduction of One Republic at this years JUNO Awards that were held in Winnipeg.
The weather might have been a bit “nippy” but for everyone attending it was clearly one hot event featured yearly in Canada on CTV National Television.
Everyone watching at home or in person could cheer as Howell introduced the Colorado band 58 minutes into the show.
The Juno Awards of 2014 honoured the Canadian music industry achievements in the latter part of 2012 and in most of 2013.
The MC’s for the event were Johnny Reid and Serena Ryder, who performed along with Classified the opening number.
In addition, the event welcomed Astronaut Chris Hadfield who introduced Bachman Turner Overdrive into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Winnipeg last hosted this event in 2005 and the other bid to host this year’s event was submitted by Victoria British Columbia.
Robin Thicke was originally scheduled to perform, but cancelled shortly before the broadcast, stating that he was under a “mandatory vocal rest.
