With hockey season around the corner and all teams getting organized for the coming season, its not a surprise that the Vegas Golden Knights were in line to announce the broadcast crew.

Knights President Kerry Bubolz made it official and announced that the team has hired their first-ever television and radio broadcast teams.

Dave Goucher is pronounced GO-sher and will serve as the team’s TV play-by-play announcer, while Shane Hnidy (pronounced NIGH-dee) will serve as the TV color commentator.

The team also introduced Dan D’Uva (pronounced DOO-vah) as the team’s radio play-by-play announcer for the coming season filling the talent pool.

Goucher and Hnidy will call all television home games on AT&T SportsNet while D’Uva will call radio home of the Golden Knights on FOX Sports 98.9 FM/1340 AM.

Knights President Kerry Bubolz mentioned “We are thrilled to have Dave, Shane and Dan on board as our first-ever broadcasters and each brings hockey experience, and will be an integral part of making broadcasts enjoyable and successful.”

He continued “They will not only be great announcers in the broadcast booth but also great community ambassadors, bringing the great game of hockey to the Las Vegas community.”

Goucher has been the radio play-by-play announcer for the Boston Bruins since 2000.

He was named New England’s top radio play-by-play announcer by the Associated Press three times (2003, 2006 and 2007) as well he was awarded the Associated Press “Best Sportscast” Award in 2006 plus named the Massachusetts Sportscaster of the Year in 2013 and 2014.

While with the Bruins he was the “voice” in the 2010 Winter Classic at Fenway Park that featured the Bruins and Flyers and called the Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup Championship run.

This included Game 5 and 7 of the Bruins vs. Canadiens in which the Bruins won in double OT and overtime, respectively.

Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final, where the Bruins defeated the Lightning to advance to the Cup Final and Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, in which the Bruins defeated the Canucks to take the Cup.

He called Game 7 (2013) of the Bruins-Leafs that saw Boston rally from three goals down in the third period pulling out the win the game and series in overtime.

In addition 2013 he (Goucher) was the radio play-by-play for the Bruins vs Penguins series that saw Bruins swept the Penguins to return to the Cup Final.

He also called all six games of the Stanley Cup Final between the Bruins and the Blackhawks that same year.

In 2016, he was fortunate to call his second Winter Classic that saw Boston host Montreal at Gillette Stadium.

Goucher has been a regular contributor to Bruins coverage on Comcast Sportsnet New England, the NHL Network and WCVB-TV in Boston.

During the 2014 and 2015 hockey seasons, he was the TV play-by-play announcer for NBCSN covering college hockey’s Hockey East games.

Prior to calling Bruins games he was the radio voice of the AHL’s Providence Bruins as well he called the 1999 Calder Cup.

In 2004, he covered the Boston Red Sox winning their first World Series in 86 years and Super Bowl XXXIX.

He was drafted in the 7th round (173rd overall) in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft Buffalo and part of the Jets broadcast since 2011.

He was the color commentator working with Dennis Beyak plus a part of the broadcast team on TSN Radio 1290 handling in-studio pre-game and game recaps.

He played in the NHL from 2000-2011 for the Ottawa, Nashville, Atlanta, Anaheim, Boston and Minnesota.

As a D-man he played in 550 games (NHL) registering 16 goals and 55 assists for a total of 71 points adding 633 PIM’s to his chart.

He was a member of Atlanta’s and Nashville’s inaugural playoff run and was a member of the Bruins’ 2011 Stanley Cup championship team and officially retired August 21, 2011.

While with TSN, he has served as an analyst covering the 2013 World Junior Tournament and the Men’s World Hockey Championships for the last four years.

D’Uva has been the Radio/TV play-by-play for the Syracuse Crunch since 2012 and privileged enough to call some of the team’s most historic games that included the 2013 and 2017 Calder Cup Finals plus the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic in 2014.

Prior to that, the Ridgewood, New Jersey native was the director of public relations and broadcasting for the ECHL’s Trenton Devils.

He studied at Syracuse University and Fordham University and participated in student media at each school and received WFUV’s Marty Glickman Award for excellence in play-by-play in 2009.
