Unique, Intriguing But Fun

Fast approaching in Vancouver and being played at BC Place is the upcoming Rugby 7’s Championships, which is not only unique, it’s intriguing.

Last summer Burnaby hosted the Pacific Nations Cup and was played at Swangard Stadium to capacity crowds each day with the final being played August 3rd.

This event played host to Canada, Fiji, Japan, Tonga and the US who were “fine-tuning” their skill level for the World Cup held in England.

Canada’s team spent their time training on Vancouver Island at Shawnigan Lake School focusing on game plans and having players compete in head-to-head battle for the position.

Upon conclusion of the Pacific Nations Cup Canada will officially announce the 31-man World Cup team.

After this they will square off against the USA with the game played in Ottawa (August 22) and then take on the Glasgow Warriors with the match to be played in Halifax on August 29.

This upcoming Rugby 7’s is completely different from the fifteen’s using different systems and structures and proves to be completely different far more entertaining to which Rugby International.

Anyone that has taken in a Rugby match knows what to expect, but with the 7’s you quite never know what to expect.

While Vancouver hosts the event first, one other event is the historic Magnificent 7’s Tournament taking place in Markham Ontario’s Fletcher’s Field’s (July 21-24) following a 12 year interruption from the sport

Vancouver’s bid beat out over 20 other bidding nations and the application was led by John Furlong and Gareth Rees, former Canadian player and World Rugby Hall of Fame inductee.

Other areas that have hosted this event include Dubai, Las Vegas and Hong Kong to which all drew record numbers of crowds.

Don’t be surprised if many attending dress up as if they are going to a party, which it will be.

This event will be entertaining, fun for the entire family and above all else – MONEY WELL SPENT!

Clearly – TOP DOLLAR SPORT FOR TOP VALUE
