Even until the end of last week we were hearing of a possible labour strike or riff in the world of Major League Baseball, but now we are hearing that there will be labour peace.

Apparently MLB Owners and Players have reached a tentative deal on a new CBA, with only hours to spare prior to the old agreement running out.

Initially it was confirmed by Curtis Granderson that they were close to getting a deal done which will take both sides locked-in until the 2021 season.

Some of the issues or concerns were the discussion of the competitive balance tax (which is expected to rise), draft pick compensation, roster size and revenue sharing.

It’s reported that the roster size will remain or stay at 25 rather than expand by one to 26 as was previously discussed by the mediator.

Apparently all that remains is for both sides to draft up a memo of understanding outlaying the details and terms both sides reached and then sign off on the deal.
