Strong Performance Needed!

It took a while, but the BC Lions reached a playoff spot for the 18th consecutive season only behind Montreal’s 19th straight years and the record held by the Eskimos streak of 34, which extended from 1972-2005.

As of game time, the Lions position remains questionable, but with a win over the Stamps they can move into 3rd in the West, or should Saskatchewan loss on Saturday.

A win would allow them to return to Edmonton for a game, which would be the fifth (5th) in the history of the team, but let’s not forget that they are still without QB Travis Lulay.

Lulay has missed 19 games and 20 starts throughout the past two CFL seasons and you can bet that Lulay has his sights set on returning to the line-up.

When you look at Lions who have made their mark in the game, you have to look at Solomon Elimimian who surpassed the record of 130 defensive tackles set by George White for the Stamps in 2005.

The Stamps on the other hand have locked up first place in the West Division and have the right to host the Western Final on  November 23rd as well as have a chance to tie the franchise record of 15 wins.

It was interesting considering this is the final regular season home game for 2014 and in getting to the Sky Train even at 4:30, there was a line-up waiting to come Vancouver to take the game in.

In as much as the game is looking at promoting it to all ages, some rule changes are questionable and I am not talking about a call that is hurtful to some one or some player on or off the field, it’s simply throwing the ball in the crowd.

The rule of using common sense relates to all sports, but the sad part is it’s not listed under any specific rule, this comes from the school of knowing and quite possibly playing the game at a competitive level.

Following a questionable call, the Lions continue to march down the field gaining yardage, but allowing the line to rush Glenn each chance they get, but throughout it all, they strongly penetrated the D-Line and marched in for a major prior to the 2nd quarter ending.

The Lions did pay tribute to the service Men and Women with an impressive half time with marching bands, Pipe band and a display of military equipment, with everyone in the stands – STANDING!!

The Lions had a stronger second half with impressive runs by Logan and Jackson who at times seem to have the agility of a speedy gazelle with no end in sight.

In the 3rd quarter it was announce that Logan had 5 carries for 66 yards, while his yards rushing he had 15 carries for 113 yards and there’s still time left to gain more.
