Stealth Drop Last Home Game

Published on

The first season’s meant to be the best one; at least that’s the way most owners look at it when they pour “tons” of money into any franchise regardless of where you live.

The season saw the Stealth finish off with a 4-14 record capping off fan Appreciation Night at Langley Events Centre for the many fans that travelled to take in the game.

Jordan Hall had a hat trick and two assists as the Philadelphia Wings topped the Vancouver Stealth 15-11 on Saturday in National Lacrosse League action.

The win saw “tender” Kevin Croswell make 40 saves on the evening, to which he was pleased for the effort shown by his team in pulling off the win.

Brett Bucktooth and Jamie Lincoln scored three goals apiece for Vancouver (4-12), while Ilija Gajic struck twice. Tyler Garrison, Justin Salt and Nick Weiss had goals as well.

Matt Roik stopped 28-of-39 shots he faced in 54:14 of work for the Stealth. Tyler Richards allowed four goals on six shots.

The Wings scored on one of their two power plays, while Vancouver converted all three of its man advantages.

The Roughnecks will now host the Colorado Mammoth in the first round of the playoffs next weekend with the winner moving on to play the Edmonton Rush in the Division final.

As for the Stealth, some off season changes are likely to be made, but as Mike Grimes describes the team needs to be more cohesive to be successful.

As for the Stealth the media was told “We need to find a way to be a better as a team and we have a ton of great individual players but for some reason it didn’t come together this year. I think if we find a way to come together better as a team we’ll have more success next year.”
