Soccer News

It’s great when minor clubs share new and letters with the community in which they live and the most recent letter is from the North Delta Soccer Club.

What an exciting time for the club as we move into the second half of the season.

January brought on the start of cup play for most teams at the competitive U11 to U18 age groups.

Delta Cup, League Champions Cup, District Play-downs have all started now and we are seeing fantastic results from many of our teams.

For those looking to get out on the weekend and watch some competitive soccer please free to visit the link and enjoy some great news at www.bcsoccercentral.com for all scheduled games, plus more great news.

January also gave us an opportunity to thank all those coaches and assistant coaches that have spent countless hours volunteering their time to this club and this community.

Thanks to all of our coaches and all of our volunteers for making this the exceptional club that it is.

Also in January we had an opportunity to host a referee appreciation night and it goes without say that we feel as a club that our referees are the best in the business.

We want to especially thank Korina, Gregg and Tina for all of the time they put into ensuring the refs are educated to the game and placed into a safe environment where they can learn and thrive.

A gentle reminder once again to all parents and coaches that in most cases our referees are just slightly older children to your own kids so exercise patience and tolerance as mistakes are just education.

Please support those refs as they are also learning the game like our own children.

Spring soccer and academy registration also opened up in January and we held an in-person registration day at the end of the month.

I am happy to announce that we are ahead of schedule as it relates to players registered. Please don’t be disappointed by registering late and having to sit on a wait list.

We will be holding another in-person registration day in Feb and online registration on our newly launched web site is always available. Special thanks to our webmaster Jason for moving all of our old web site to the new platform. soccer ball

Please visit www.northdeltasoccer.com to register or to just gather information on any programs we are currently offering.

February will be used as a month to plan for our annual Herb Betts Jamboree and Bronze Tournament.

We have many volunteer opportunities available for those events and we will certainly find a role for you.

We wish all the teams that are playing in cup play and of course all of our mini teams continued fun and success as we move through to the end of the Fall soccer season.

See you all on the turf.

Thanks for sharing the news letter and Sportswave wishes the Club much success.
