One area of BC that continues top caliber athletes is Prince George and four of those athletes are four skiers and snowboarders.
It’s not for the faint of heart, but more for those who like to add excitement in their daily lives, two being Laird’s Grandsons Mason and McKay Douglas
A while back Laird took them to Sasquatch Mountain, located just NW of Harrison Hot Springs for an outing, that saw them get some “air” that could be a passion either for them, now or in the future, but regardless it was Family Time!
From rookies on the “board” to the four who were recently named to Canada’s National Teams for the 2020-21 season that see’s current 23 year-old Olympian Meryeta O’Dine.
She holds her spot on Canada’s Snowboard Cross team all due to her impressive international performance that saw her manage a 10 top-10 finishes in North America and Europe.
She has competed for Canada’s National Team dating back to the 2016-17 season campaign and currently is ranked 15th overall in the world.
Joining her is PG’s rookie Evan Bichon (21) who began his career at age 5 will sit in the NextGen group for snowboardcross which allows her to be invited to national team training camps.
“Making the NextGen/Canadian National Development Team means a lot,” said Bichon to PrinceGeorgeMatters following his selection.
Bichon mentioned to the media “I am very proud to represent Canada on the world stage again this year and am very thankful for the support I have received along the way.”

He is a graduate of D.P. Todd Secondary was listed on the North American podium three times last season which included a Gold medal earlier this year in Colorado.
This year saw him start in Finland on International slopes claiming ninth out of 45 racers and currently is ranked 50th in the world.
Skicross has two other PG Athletes with sights set on the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing as a member of Canada’s National roster.
Tiana Gairns returns to Canada’s National team once again following a series of injuries forcing her to rehab for the remainder of last season.
She managed to grab Silver at the 2019 Austrian National Championships, which was her very first International podium finish since joining the circuit of the World Cup.
