Mikael Kingsbury (25) is by far one of the best when it comes to competition skiing and we should note that he recently was the best competitor to dominate both the final and the super final on his last run with his highest score of 85.94.

Why he ever choose to compete in one of the most controversial areas of the sport in any FIS discipline see’s him continuing to win both the moguls and Freestyle, being listed as the top athlete for six consecutive seasons.

The win Why see’s him (Kingsbury) with 10 consecutive World Cup victories,(some articles list 9) managing to hold a record of 45 career wins to his credit.

This alone makes him the most successful men’s Freestyle skier ever and only second to Conny Kissling of the US.

In the 2012-13 season his performance allowed him to stand on top of the FIS Freestyle World Cup ranking, winning his second consecutive overall Crystal Globe.

At the 2012-13 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Voss, NOR, Mikael was able to claim his first World Championship title in the moguls competition.

It was the competition at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi that saw him and Bilodeau go pretty much (in hockey terms) stride for stride with Kingsbury

In Women’s competition Penticton’s Andi Naude captured Bronze scoring 77.64 behind Jaelin Kauf of the US who had a score of 77.90 and Kazakhstan’s Yulia Galysheva who had a score of 77.79.

She was pleased to ski in the three rounds from the qualification to final and eventual final round to which she mentioned “I am really excited to be able to use my backfull in all three runs and it’s obvious that the harder degree of difficulty is more valuable.”

Justine Dufour-Lapointe fell during training, but the Olympic champion was more startled than injured, emerging with just a few scratches to the face.

The Canadian moguls skiers came home for Christmas and are back at it January 3 in Calgary which is the site of the first two World Cups on Canadian soil.

That competition in Calgary starts Saturday January 6 at Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park and you can get more info at https://calgaryworldcup.ca
