Hockey
SFU Charity Game
SFU Men’s Ice Hockey program is pleased to announce that the Canadian Cancer Society, BC & Yukon, will attend the SFU home game on October 20th against the Trinity Western University Spartans.
This will help raise awareness of the “Game Plan” initiative to reduce cancer risk to our loved one’s.
The “Game Plan” concept is part of a broader Men’s and Women’s health initiative being undertaken by the Canadian Cancer Society to encourage the public to take charge of their health.
The Society is hitting the pavement across BC and the Yukon to show how making one lifestyle change can make an impact.
“Behaviour changes made now can have a long-term impact on your health,” says Brittney Parks, Health Promotion Coordinator with the
Canadian Cancer Society.
“Start by making one change – walk to work, eat more vegetables, limit your alcohol consumption – and start making a difference today.”
In addition to raising awareness of the Game Plan initiative, SFU Hockey will also donate a portion of ticket sales on October 20th to the Canadian Cancer Society to help fund cancer research.
The Society will be at the game to hand out gifts and provide information to SFU fans in attendance.
Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, $5 for students/children/seniors.
