Season Starting Earlier Each Year

Although it  is not the NHL pre-season hockey has started in the Junior ranks including the BC Major Midget Hockey League with games going on this month and the beginning of September as they prepare for the opening of their season on September 19th.
The league is made up of 11 teams situated through the province and is a premier league for players that want to take their game to the next level.
Who and be drafted by Western Hockey League, BC Junior Hockey League and the Pacific Junior B Hockey with the (Delta Ice Hawks) league as they move up in their junior careers.
A total of 11 teams make up the BC Major Midget Hockey League, that see’s the following teams travel the province in hopes of winning the elusive championship at seasons end.
The teams include the following:major midget
  • Caribou Cougars
  • Vancouver NW Giants
  • Vancouver NE Chiefs
  • Okanagan Rockets
  • Greater Vancouver Canadians
  • Valley West Hawks
  • South Island Royals
  • North Island Silvertips
  • Fraser Valley Thunderbirds
  • Thompson Blazers
  • Kootenay Ice.
The league offers an opportunity for scouts from Provincial Junior Hockey to WHL that can be watched on Delta TV as well as NHL scouts to watch for that all-rounded next superstar that can make the jump to the next level.
The League has officially started, albeit early for some of us and a series of exhibition games are listed for competition and have been played.
If you have not taken in a game recently visit the website and plan on watching some great hockey and even though it’s August, it’s never too early for the teams to look at the stars of tomorrow.
MML teams conducted evaluation camps from August 6 to 9, 2015, and will announce their final rosters in early September.
These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship and next year it’s the 2016 TELUS Cup.
The road is difficult, but getting the right mix of players works best for all teams, that combines team play, chemistry and playing disciplined all adds to success.
