Season Debut Starts March 6th
Vancouver Whitecaps FC officially announced that the regular season capacity at BC Place Stadium will be expanded to 22,120.
The club also announced that three (3) matches in 2016 will be opened up to 25,000 (capacity) for the following games:
- April 2 vs LA Galaxy
- October 2 vs Seattle Sounders FC
- October 23 vs Portland Timbers

In 2015 the club had 14,000 season ticket members, an increase from 13,000 in 2014.

- Expanded regular season capacity of 22,120 (up from 21,000 between 2011 to 2015)
- 25,000 capacity for three matches: April 2 vs. LA, October 2 vs. Seattle, October 23 vs. Portland
“Interest in our club continues to increase as we enter our sixth season in Major League Soccer,” said Whitecaps FC Chief Operating Officer Rachel Lewis. “Our season ticket base has seen steady growth for the last three seasons and we are thrilled to now be in a position to expand our regular season capacity and open additional seating for three of our marquee matches.”
Last season Whitecaps FC set new club records for average attendance at 20,915 and sell-outs with 12, including 27,837 fans at the club’s first MLS Cup playoff match at BC Place.
On the field, the ‘Caps finished with their most wins (16), highest point total (53), and their best MLS regular season finish at second in the Western Conference and third in the overall standings.
The Blue and White “Cap’s” open the 2016 home Major League Soccer season March 6 at 2:30 pm (PT) against Canadian rivals Montreal Impact.
