BC High School Girls Sevens

The 2011 British Columbia High School Girls Sevens schedule has been released for this weekend’s tournament in Delta, BC.
The British Columbia High School Girls’ Rugby Association (BCHSGRA) and BC Rugby have partnered to run the competition, which features high school players competing in Under-18 and Under-16 divisions.

Date: Saturday – April 2, 2011

Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm

Location: John Oliver Park, Delta (Home of Brit Lions Rugby)

Divisions: U16 (Grades 9 & 10), U18 (Grades (11 & 12)

UNDER-18 DIVISION

The Under-18 division will feature six teams from across the province.
From the Mainland, Carson Graham (North Vancouver), Walnut Grove (Langley) and Merritt (Merritt) will compete for the provincial title.
Representing Vancouver Island, two teams from Cowichan Secondary (Cowichan) and a team from Shawnigan Lake School will make the trip across the Georgia Strait.
The Under-18 competition format will see each team play five games (70 minutes total) in a full round robin, with the winner declared on a points basis.
Points will be awarded as follows; four points for a win, two points for a draw, a bonus point for three tries, and a bonus point for a loss of seven points or less.

The Under-16 division will feature three teams from the Lower Mainland; Carson Graham, South Delta and Walnut Grove.

The Under-16s will compete in a double round robin with each team playing four games (56 minutes total) and the winner declared on a points basis.

Points will be awarded as follows; four points for a win, two points for a draw, a bonus point for three tries, and a bonus point for a loss of seven points or less.
