Many are sceptical at professional Athletes and quite often are under the impression that they are selfish, but contrary to what you believe hockey players are known for their overall generosity and charitable spirit they display.
While this involves a professional Hockey player, it often happens in other professional sports as well.
As one pro Athlete once told me, it’s not about taking; it’s up to us to also help those that are less fortunate as we are.
Truer words were never spoken and it’s this act of kindness that makes the world a better place in which to live.
I see this in various areas of minor sports, regardless of what might be played and the minor Associations that have adapted this should be commended.
Sports Athletes are normally hailed as great guys thanks to acts like what John Tavares did for a young Islanders fan who was jeered at a Jets game.
One prime example of this is what Ottawa Senators Captain Jason Spezza did recently for an ill fan.
Spezza and his teammate Erik Karlsson gave a personalized photo of themselves to Justin, who was described as a “very sick young boy” at Ottawa’s Saint-VincentHospital. However that photo was stolen when a car outside the hospital was broken into according to Metro News.
The Ottawa Police began searching for the perpetrator/suspect but Spezza wasn’t really interested in having to wait for an outcome, hoping for good news.
Once again, an NHL star has done his best to make the best of an otherwise sad story and do his best he did.
That’s an amazing keepsake that the Senators are sending, way better than just a replacement.
