POSSIBLE RETURN?
While there is still time for the BC Lions to make moves prior to the start of the season, it’s never too early to solidify your line up and that’s what they are looking at doing.
The defensive tackle was released by the Toronto Argonauts in March and all indication leads on to believe he would be a welcome addition to the Lions.
Last season he (Mitchell) had 32 tackles and five quarterback sacks in only 16 games with Toronto and it is unclear as to why he was released, but it could be a welcome addition for the Lions..
He spent three seasons with the Lions, was acquired by the Argonauts in a trade last year, much to the surprise of many, so having him return would be a welcome home addition.
The Lions had no choice but to get rid of Khalif and now it seems they have little choice but to re-sign him if he’s available.
From what I hear he (Khalif) was a model citizen and teammate in Toronto and seems to have curbed his offensive antics and tweets.
He provides the added push up the middle the Lions has been lacking, which will free up Keron to play DE opposite of Wilson – assuming the Lions can get him signed.
