The Vancouver Canadians are proud to announce that RHP Phil Kish has been named Northwest League Pitcher of the Week after going 5-for-5 in save opportunities, helping the C’s to a fourth consecutive Championship Series that starts tonight out at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Kish is 11-for-11 in save opportunities this summer for Vancouver and was on the mound when the Canadians secured a spot in the NWL Finals back on Thursday.
The C’s, fresh off winning the North Division pennant in Spokane, will play the at home for the final time this summer on Saturday at 7:05pm out at historic Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium, presented by Scotiabank.
Vancouver is in search of a fourth consecutive Northwest League Championship, a feat that has only been done once in the 61-year history of the storied Minor League circuit (Spokane 1987-90) and could happen this weekend.
