PIJHL League Set’s Final Dates
The PIJHL championship final starts March 22 (Thursday) in Ladner at the Ladner Leisure Center which will see the Abby Pilots play the home town favourites the Delta Ice Hawks.
The Pilots finished their second round playoff series with a 5-4 in game six against the Aldergrove Kodiaks in front of a full house at the MSA Arena.
During the regular season the Pilots placed second (one point) behind the Kodiaks in the Harold Britain Conference with 59 points.
The Ice Hawks were runners up with 62 points and a full 12 points behind the Richmond Sockeyes.
It took the Hawks six games to defeat the Tom Shaw Conference Champions who played exceptional all year.
The 7 game PIJHL Junior B championship series will alternate home and away with Delta enjoying home ice should it go a full seven games.
Following Thursday night’s home opener all of the Ice Hawks’ home games start at 7:30 p.m. Both teams them meet the following night (March 23) in Abbotsford at the MSA arena.
Saturday’s game three is in Ladner at 7:30, then both clubs get a day’s rest until play resumes on Monday at the MSA arena.
Game 5 follows on March 27 in Ladner, game 6 is March 30 in Abbotsford, and game 7 is set for March 31 in Ladner.
