Paying Tribute To A Legend
It goes without saying that the current edition of the Vancouver Canucks have never played or quite possibly understood the legend of Montreal Canadian’s Legend Jean Beliveau.
The current road-trip takes them to Montreal where they stopped by the Bell Centre to pay their respects to legend Jean Beliveau, who is lying in state at center ice.
The entire team and staff stopped by the Bell Centre a day early to pay their respects to Canadiens legend who did so much for not only the game, but also the City of Montreal.
This was a very important moment for Canucks forward Alex Burrows. The Montreal native says he learned to love the game of hockey because his grandmother who was a huge fan of Beliveau.
Burrows told the media “Personally, I have never met Mr. Béliveau, but it was the favorite player of my grandmother” and for him and the team shows what a classy organization the Vancouver Canucks are, both on and off the ice.
Burrows continued “She spoke to me with passion when I was young and it is perhaps one of the reasons why I fell in love with hockey.”
Beliveau was the personification of class, on and off the ice and anyone who has ever met him will tell you the same thing.
A legend taken from us far too soon!
