With the women’s 2015 Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship well underway, teams, athletes, families, friends and fans of the game gathered last night on the Championship Diamond at Softball City for the annual Parade of Athletes.
The event gave all those involved in the tournament the opportunity celebrate the sport of fastpitch and inspire young female athletes to reach for their personal best.
The celebration also allowed the up-and-coming talent from the Women’s Futures and Showcase Gold, and Future Showcase Select to walk alongside their idols and mentors.
The Parade of Athletes served as an opportunity to thank the Championship hosts and volunteers for all of their hard work and dedication in facilitating a Championship that draws the best of the best from all over the world.
On Thursday evening, Team Canada will face off against Team Japan to compete for the number 1 spot.
Directly following the game will be an opportunity for fans and spectators to meet the athletes that make up Team Canada at the official autograph signing following the 6:30 PM match.
