While we all sit  at home in a state of isolation there are various places we can set our sights on once this all subsides and we can once again hit the open road.

One such place is Manning Park Resort located three short hours east of Vancouver that features a scenic drive down highway one.

Manning Park covers over 80,000 hectares representing from the Okanagan to the coastal rainforest, offering huge cedar trees, part of the coastal rainforest and the Skagit and similkameen river basins.

The drive from Vancouver takes you down Hwy 1 on route to Hope and upon leaving you will turn onto the Hope Princeton Hwy #3 that will take you directly to your destination.

While the terrain might be somewhat of an uphill climb for your car, it is best to get it serviced such as having a new thermostat installed prior to your journey so as not to overheat.

While getting your vehicle serviced at a station of your choice, make sure that they give you “the full meal deal” by checking the brakes and belts as well.

Manning Park is one way in which you can connect with the outdoors allowing you to enjoy a peaceful escape from the city lights to a retreat that offers you the sense of relaxation.

Manning Park can accommodate over 450 people sporting a variety of rooms to fit your budget ranging from cabins to camping or a chalet.

Iis a full four season park that offers over 60km of groomed Nordic trails plus the Nordic and snowshoe trails for an enjoyable day trip to some of the most splendid mountains, lakes and rivers you will ever see.

Long before the fur traders arrived the park was and still is home to First Nations which is the traditional meeting ground of the Stolo and Similkameen First |Nations.

The park was named after Ernest Callaway |Manning who was the Chief Forester of BC and tragically passed away in 1941 and was instrumental in developing setting land aside for future generations.

The highway was opened in 1949 so as to provide a transportation connection between the coast and the interior, but it wasn’t until 1967 and 1970 that the Blue and Orange Chair’s were installed.

Given the weather conditions on the coast in 2010, snow was trucked from Manning Park to the hills on the lower mainland for a successful Olympics.

Spend some time inside the Lodge and enjoy the hospitality of the friendly staff while surrounded by the luxury of a fireplace for your comfort.

In 2013 Manning Park was purchased by Dona and Kevin Demers operating under the Sunshine Valley Recreation Inc.

Summer offers you the time to camp, fish, hike and boat in the warmer months, while the winter months offer some of the most scenic skiing, snowshoeing, skating and tubing you will ever experience.

It’s reported that some individuals have held their dream wedding set in front of either the mountains or with one of the cabins for the backdrop.

Manning Park offers you and your Family the opportunity to experience the outdoors that will leave you wanting to return to capture the nature that Manning Park has to offer.

Families for generations have returned and not just from BC, but rather other countries throughout the world to capture the beauty offered in this part of the World.
