The National Lacrosse League has announced the 2016 NLL regular season schedule ahead of the league’s 30th anniversary year.
The 81-game season consisting of 18 games per team will begin January 1st with Colorado Mammoth hosting the Georgia Swarm.
The defending National Lacrosse League champion Saskatchewan Rush visit the Calgary Roughnecks January 2nd rounding out Week 1.
Four teams play home openers in Week 2 (January 9) including the East Division champion Toronto Rock visiting the Georgia Swarm, which is the first-ever NLL game at Infinite Energy Center.
Other games include:
- Calgary Roughnecks at Buffalo Bandits
- Colorado Mammoth at Rochester Knighthawks
- New England Black Wolves at Vancouver Stealth
Three more home openers for Week 3 see the Rochester Knighthawks visit the Toronto Rock January 14th, as well as the Calgary Roughnecks at New England Black Wolves and Vancouver Stealth at Saskatchewan Rush.
This is the team’s inaugural season at SaskTel Centre January 15th so if you’re in the area plan on attending.
Week 13 features a home-and-home rematch of the 2015 NLL Champion’s Cup Finals as the Toronto Rock hosts the Saskatchewan Rush March 25 before the weekend series shifts to Saskatoon March 26.
The 2016 NLL regular season concludes in Week 18 with every team in action before the 2016 NLL Playoffs start the weekend of May 6-8. More details regarding the league’s postseason schedule will be released at a later date.
