Not the easiest job in sport, but the Men and Women in the Stripped Shirts deserve a lot of credit.
Some officiate for years, while others are only in the game for the money. Sad to say, but these officials stand out like a sore thumb.
They are lazy, don’t care and are not a team player. They show up do the game, get the money and leave.
Working at the pro level takes a special individual, that is the why there are only a selected number working.
Hard work is rewarded and such is the case with the following NHL officials that have been named to work at the upcoming 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia.
Congratulations to those chosen. The following NHL officials have been named for the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games:
Referees:
Tim Peel, Dave Jackson, Mike Leggo, Brad Meier, Kevin Pollock, Ian Walsh and Kelly Sutherland
Linesmen:
Lonnie Cameron, Derek Amel, Greg Devorski, Brad Kovachik, Andy McElman and Mark Wheler
This is a tremendous achievement and Sportswave congratulates all 13 members of the NHLOA selected.
Thanks to the NHL Officials Association web site for the info.
