Players play a sport of their choice, first to have fun and second to see if they have a  chance of making it to the pro level of the game and with the growth of the game – chances are good.

Prospects games are set up for pro scouts to assess, evaluate and get a first hand look at who or whom they might look at setting their sights on for the upcoming draft.

Now we are hearing that Vancouver Giants (5’11” 187 lbs) forward Milos Roman (Kysucke Nove Mesto, SVK) will play in the 2018 Sherwin-Williams CHL NHL Top Prospects Game January 25th held in Guelph.

He was selected by the Giants (sixth overall) in the 2017 CHL Import Draft has registered eight (8) goals and 21 assists (29 points) through 32 games.

He is currently tied in the assist department with the team lead and currently tied for third in team scoring.

As the team heads into the weekend and the Teddy Bear Toss he leads all WHL rookies in scoring.

Last season at age 17, Roman represented Slovakia in the IIHF World Junior Championships and recorded a goal and an assist in four games.

This weekend he’ll be joining Slovakia for their World Junior camp with the hope of once again representing his country internationally.

He has played at the International Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (2016 and 2017), the World Under-18’s (2016 and 2017) and the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (2015).

In November he was ranked as a ‘B’ prospect by NHL Central Scouting in their Players to Watch List.

Roman is the 12th Giant to receive an invite to this prestigious event. Previous Giants to suit up in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game include: Mark Fistric (2004), Gilbert Brule (2005), Jonathan Blum (2007), Michal Repik (2007), Tyson Sexsmith (2007), James Wright (2008), Evander Kane (2009), David Musil (2011), Brett Kulak (2012) and Ty Ronning (2016).

In 2016 Giants Captain Tyler Benson was invited but did not participate due to an ongoing injury.

Sportswave wishes him all the best moving forward!
