Mike Foligno Named Assistant Coach

The Canucks officially announced the addition of Mike Foligno as an Assistant Coach of AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

Foligno joins Head Coach Scott Arniel and Assistant Coach, Nolan Baumgartner behind the bench after a lengthy professional playing career and 18 years of coaching experience at every level from junior hockey to the NHL.

Foligno most recently served as an Assistant Coach with the Anaheim Ducks.

Foligno (53) was the Head Coach of the Hershey Bears over five seasons and compiled an impressive record of 186-154-44-16, managing to lead the Bears to a playoff position every year from 1999-2003.

The Sudbury native was originally selected by the Detroit Red Wings 3rd overall in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft and produced 727 points (355-372-727) and 2,049 penalty minutes over his 1,018 game career.

In 57 career playoff games Foligno recorded 15 goals, 17 assists (15-17-32) and 185 penalty minutes.

In addition to his two years of service with the Anaheim Ducks, Foligno’s NHL Assistant Coaching experience also includes time with the Colorado Avalanche and Toronto Maple Leafs.
