Magic Number Is 67

The second round saw 157 golfers hit the course Friday at the first Presidents Choice Financial Open at the Point Grey Golf and Country Club, but to advance the magic number was 67.

After all the scores came in 96 players missed the cut as they enter the final 72 holes on Marine Drive.

Several players were on the brink of making or breaking their entry in the final 36 holes which included 9 Canadians in the pack.

victoria golfThe remainder of the players move to the next event the Bayview Place Island Savings Open in Victoria at the Uplands Golf and Country Club.

Canadians making the cut were Justin Shin -2 (Pitt Meadows), Benn Yoeng Lee -3 (Montreal), Kent Eger -4 (Regina), Riley Wheeldon -4 (Comox), David Byrne -5  (Essex), Michael Gligic -5 (Burlington), Brad Clapp -8 (Chilliwack), Sean Harlingten -8 (West Vancouver) and Vancouver’s Eugene Wong shooting a – 11.

This event is first class and it show the talent of Canada’s young golfers.
