It is with great sadness that Baseball Canada announces the passing of Greg LaPierre, the loving husband of Baseball Canada Treasurer Holly LaPierre.
Surrounded by his loved ones, Greg lost his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 27th. His wife Holly survives him along with his children Jeff and Samantha.
Greg was a gentle soul who did not let his battle with cancer get in the way of living life to the fullest.
A family man who had an affinity for muscle cars, Greg could be seen last summer cruising the roads near his home in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia in his 1969 Plymouth Barracuda – a surprise gift from Holly.
Always willing to lend a hand when need be, Greg was a tremendous volunteer who spent countless hours at the ballpark.
Whether it was a local event with Hammond Plains Minor Baseball, where Holly is President, or hosting a National Championship tournament, Greg was quietly working behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Less than three weeks ago, he was an early riser helping to prepare the auction room for the annual National Teams Awards Banquet and Fundraiser.
Greg: You will be missed.
Thanks to Baseball Canada for the info. Our sincere condolences to the Family.
