Looking Forward – What’s In Store?

While the canucks, er- rather the Sedin’s continue to mesmerize those attending Canuck games, we on the west coast get spoiled by the magic they perform game in and game out.

When they first arrived on the scene they were young and selected in the 99 NHL Entry Draft 2nd and 3rd overall behind first selection Patrik Stefan.

Many questioned Burke’s choice while causing controversy at the draft; but regardless he stood by his “guns” and showed patience with the youngsters.

While Burke was second guessed, some consider the selection of Stefan to be a “bust” for the Atlanta Flames, so patience pays off.

Both Henrik and Daniel are identical twins Henrik, who have played their career’s together even on home ice in Omskoldsvik Sweden.

Daniel is known as a goal-scorer of the two, while Henrik is known as the playmaker or set-up man of the two, but really – they are both magicians to watch and especially in person.

Living in Vancouver we are spoiled and get to see them play on a regular basis, so regardless of what they do, it really never shocks us as we are used to the dramatic.

When you look at the team one has to ask or ponder what the future will hold for the Canucks and if we are more realistic – will they ever hold the Stanley Cup?

The talent is getting younger and given the most recent game against the Blue Jackets saw the first goal scored by the oldest player on the ice – Linden Vey.

The game did have it’s moments of flash but with the Jackets coming to town off a 5-1 loss to the Oilers and the Canucks well rested fans were expecting more than what they saw.

TottorellaThe game did not appear to be a sell-out, but for a rainy Thursday night it was more about the return of former Canuck Head Coach John Tortorella.

No fan fair, no huge thank you plastered on the jumbotron, nor did he expect it.

He is more focused on the re-building of a team with no real super-stars, but did mention they have the understanding of what he wants – it just has to be executed.

The Canucks are in the hunt for the final 31 games of the season and many are wondering if they are focused on making the play-offs or a high draft choice?

Only time will tell?

Thanks to the NHL Youtube for the video.
