Lions Add Another

Published on

Not wanting till it’s too late, the BC Lions continue to sign quality players to the roster that add that much needed depth for the coming season.

This one involved the signing of centre Matt Norman to a contract extension that fills a position that they were focused on adding depth, especially since the retirement of Angus Reid a while back.

Norman calls Chateauguay Quebec home in the off-season and is under contract to the BC Lions through the 2016 season.

He was selected in the 2012 CFL draft in the third round, ranking in at the 22nd position overall and was with the University of Western Ontario, prior to the draft.

“Matt has shown tremendous progress and maturity in his first two seasons playing one of the most important positions on the field,” Wally Buono, the Lions’ vice-president of football operations, said in a statement. “His extension along with our recent signing of Hunter Steward and the return of Kirby Fabien means the future of our offensive line is in good hands and it’s along the line of scrimmage where championships are won.”
