The BC Junior “A” Lacrosse league is into the second round of the post season and defending champs Coquitlam Adanacs will be playing the Langley Thunder in one series.
The other series see’s New Westminster “bellies” play the Delta Islanders to see who will play in the league final.
The opening round Langley knocked off Po Coq in straight games in a best of three series advancing them to the semi-finals against Coquitlam.
While they were in tough after the opening loss (11-8) to the A’s they got pasted 15-4 in game two and now face elimination in game three.
The game will be played at the Coquitlam Sports centre with the face-off set for 8:00 pm in which Coquitlam can complete the sweep of the Thunder.
The other series had the “Bellies” eliminate the Victoria Shamrocks in straight games to advance them to the semi’s. This will see them square off against the Delta Islanders who finished second overall in the regular season in 2012 to Coquitlam.
They find themselves in somewhat of a hole being down to 2-0 to New Westminster as they head into game three on Wednesday at Ladner’s Leisure Centre.
They are trying to not face elimination, but the score in the opening game was 14-13 for the Bellies in OT.
This was followed up by a 17-9 New Westminster romping in game two. The game in Ladner starts at 8 pm.
The winners of the both series square off in a best of five set to decide who will be advancing to represent BC at the Minto Cup which will be played in Alberta.
Coquitlam have won back to back titles in BC representing the Province so here’s hoping BC is well represented on and off the floor.
