KidSport Delta Gala A Huge Success

This past Saturday Sportswave and Eastlink TV attended the KidSport Delta gala as they hosted their annual fundraiser which helps raise funds for young athletes who are wanting to be involved in sports but due to financial reasons are not able to play their chosen sport.
The event is held at Tsawwassen Spring in the main Ballroom and put on by the committee headed by Carlene Lewell which takes several volunteers to put on this sold out event.
Both myself with Sportswave and Kevin Adlem with Eastlink TV attend the event each year having the luxury to both get some great interviews as well as get to know more about the wants and needs of KidSport.
This year the guest speaker was Richmond’s Evan Dunfee and Olympic Race Walker who captured the hearts of everyone in the lower mainland as well as Canada wishing him all the best in all his travels.
KidSport provides grants to help cover the costs of registration fees so that all kids aged 18 and under in Delta can play a season of sport which they would otherwise not be able to take part in.
In today’s world it’s important for all kids to be involved in various sports as it not only develops and opens your mind it builds lifelong friendships.
Our chapter accepts applications and administers grants of up to $500 per child per calendar year, for kids who live in Delta.
If you live outside of Delta please contact the Provincial Office to find your nearest chapter, or to get support through the Provincial Fund.
Let’s get involved and help tomorrow’s future!!!
Highly recommended by Sportswave!!!!
