Howe Making Strides
We all wish with Hockey Hall of Famer “Mr. Hockey”, Gordie Howe the best on his road to recovery as he is indeed a fighter both on and off the ice.
We are now hearing that he recently underwent a second round of treatment with stem cells as his family attempts to improve his quality of life following a stroke last October.
In a release from the Family they state “Our dad continues to participate in a clinical trial where stem cells are being used in the treatment of a stroke. We’d like to wait until the first phase of that clinical trial is complete before providing any more updates. At this time, our dad is comfortable and happy. That remains our goal. We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support for Mr. Hockey.”
He is receiving the treatment at a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, which some might question, but apparently whatever the treatment – it’s working at least for Gordie.
He made noticeable strides following the first round of treatment, and the second phase was already planned as they attempt to restore further function on the right side of his body.
Howe is expected to return to Michigan once he finishes the current trial before moving to Ohio, where he’ll live in a facility tailored to individuals with dementia
We wish him all the best on his road to recovery!!
