You play sport for the love and enjoyment of the game and anything beyond that is simply a “dream come true” for not only the person playing but also his/her Family.

Recently the press release for the 2018 BC Sports Hall of Fame Inductees were announced and one name that was overlooked in the past, but not now is Glen Jackson.

His career spanned 12 full seasons and is listed as one of the best Canadian linebackers to ever play in the CFL.

He played in 192 regular season games as a linebacker for the BC Lions from 1976-87 and managed to amass 23 interceptions, recovered 23 fumbles while managing 36 QB sacks.

While the stats talk volumes it’s interesting to note that QB sacks were not recorded prior to 1981 and any tackle was not recorded until 1987.

He was one of the mainstays in helping the BC Lions to two Grey Cup Finals in 83 and 85 and was a key contributor in the 1985 Grey Cup Championship run.

He played University Football at Simon Fraser University and was named the NAIA Northwest Division All-Star three different times as well as the  teams most outstanding lineman.

He led Notre Dame High School to three BC Provincial High School Football Championships in the late 60ties and early 70ties.

He was named on three occasions as the BC Lions Top Canadian player (1981,1982,1986) and was names the Top Defensive player (1979,1981,1982) three times as well while with the BC Lions.

He was inducted into the BC Football Hall of Fame in 2014, added to the BC Lions Wall of Fame in 2003, selected to the BC Lions 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2003 and also inducted into the Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

Congratulations on this milestone recognition.
