A pair of victories in Week 19 has propelled the Fraser Valley Jets from fifth to second place in the SCWHL standings

After 4-1 and 3-1 wins over the Meadow Ridge Moose, the Jets improved to 12-6-2 (win-loss-tied) to tie the Moose and North Shore Rebels for the runner-up position, with two more wins than the Rebels and a game in hand on the Moose.

Saturday night at the Langley Sportsplex, Fraser Valley got a hat trick from Lindsay DiPietro in a 4- 1 win against the Moose. DiPietro opened the scoring with an even strength goal, then added a powerplay goal and a shorthanded tally in the third period.

Melanie Jue netted the winning goal for the Jets, with Emily Bajkov notching a lone Moose goal. In Sunday afternoon’s rematch at Planet Ice – Delta, Jackie Lang netted a pair of goals to lead the Jets to a 3-1 victory.

DiPietro netted one goal, with Kacey Lepp scoring for Meadow Ridge.

The Moose outshot the Jets in both games, but managed to score just two goals on 72 shots on Fraser Valley goalie Stacy Wilson.

The North Shore Rebels blanked the Burnaby Mountain Capitals 4-0 Thursday night at Moody Park Arena in New Westminster.

The Rebels got goals from Elisa Pharao, Elexa Pokozdy, Nicole Charlton and Jasmine Manhas, and a 48-save shutout from Jen Goddard. The Capitals were eliminated from playoff contention Saturday night at the Richmond Ice Centre following a 4-1 loss to the Richmond Devils.

Scoring once each for the Devils were Amy Vanden Eynde, Marisa Chau, Nicole Lim and Melissa Phillips. Indianna Wainman was the lone goal scorer for Burnaby Mountain.
