Eddie Hicks Places 9th

Mikael Kingsbury of Deux Montagnes, Que. won his fourth consecutive FIS World Cup mogul event here today.

Kingsbury’s gold capped a three-medal day for Canada. Kingsbury took top spot in the men’s super final with a score of 25.32; he was followed by Patrick Deneen of the US at 24.00.
Philippe Marquis took the bronze with a score of 21.86. It was the first world cup podium for the 21 year-old from Quebec City.
In fact, it was a banner day for the entire Canadian men’s team here, as all six members made it to the finals. Alex Bilodeau of Rosemere, Que. finished the day in fifth; Marc-Antoine Gagnon of Terrebonne, Que. was 6th; Eddie Hicks of Langley, B.C. was 9th and Cedric Rochon of St. Sauveur, Que. rounded out the Canadian men in 16th spot. In women’s action, Justine Dufour-Lapointe earned her third-straight silver medal. The 17-year-old from Montreal scored 22.85.
Olympic champion Hannah Kearney of the US earned the gold — her 12th-straight World Cup victory — at 23.52.
Nikola Sudova of the Czech Republic was third at 22.78. Chloe Dufour-Lapointe just narrowly missed making it to the women’s super final, and ended up in fifth position.
The eldest Dufour-Lapointe sister, Maxime, and Quebec City’s Audrey Robichaud also made finals; they finished the day in eighth and 13th, respectively.
Alex Dufresne of Lorraine, Que., was 20th. Chelsea Henitiuk of Spruce Grove, Alta did not finish.
