Six Nation Domination
Any time teams reach a final championship series it’s essential that discipline plays a key role in their success not just for one game, but the entire series.
Entering game three in the 2014 Minto Cup Championship see’s Ontario Champ’s down two games to none, so rebounding is essential unless they are looking for a quick exit and a trip home prior to Sunday.
For the first two games Coquitlam scored 18 goals while Six Nations managed only 12, so the key is not just to get more shots on net but make them count.
That is exactly what they did as they grabbed the first of the game at 3:35 followed by Coquitlam’s first at 6:32 and from here at least for the first it was all Six Nations managing a lead after one period.
This game is all about control and from what we are seeing, it’s all coming from Six Nations and I’m not sure if they are being motivated by the drums behind the bench or not?
If you are looking for fast exciting Lacrosse despite the score and if you’re an Adanac fan you won’t be happy with what you saw in the first, but there is lot’s left in the game.
Six Nations continued to pound the Adanac’s and put two more on the board by the 9 minute mark allowing one from the Adanac’s.
At the 7:58 mark we did see a good tilt all started by the Adanac’s following the ninth goal and prior to the face-off.
If one could have predicted this score following Sunday’s game, you should have taken your bet to Vegas as the odds would have been at least 50-1.
The key to the second period was sloppy and undisciplined play by the Adanac’s and regardless if they tried as an intimidation factor, it never worked.
Whenever I attend a sporting event, you just never know who I will run into and at the opening game of the 2014 Minto Cup I bumped into Doug Locker the GM of the Vancouver Stealth, who took the time out of his busy schedule to chat.
The interview was done by Jorge Parra of Underdog Productions who works with Sportswave covering several sporting events in the area.
Have a watch and come out and support the Vancouver Stealth.
