CFL Schedule Released

The newly formed Ottawa Redblacks will officially make their official return to the CFL on the road and it will see them play their first-ever regular-season game in Winnipeg against the Blue Bombers on July 3.

CFLThe Renegades folded in 2006 and everyone in Ottawa is excited for the return seeing them make the home debut in the new stadium, TD Place, July 18 against the Toronto Argonauts.

The 2014 CFL season starts June 26 with Toronto in Winnipeg before the defending champion Saskatchewan Roughriders host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a Grey Cup rematch June 29.

Ottawa and Hamilton will play in new facilities this year and the fans will see the Hamilton Ticats open at Tim Hortons Field against the Redblacks on July 26.

Hamilton will also host arch-rival Toronto on Sept. 1 to re-establish their annual Labour Day showdown. Also that weekend, Ottawa will visit Montreal on Aug. 29, Saskatchewan will host Winnipeg on Aug. 31, while the Calgary Stampeders will welcome Edmonton Eskimos on Sept. 1.

The BC Lions first exhibition home game is set for June 20th against Calgary with the 61st training camp and the Coaching staff is eager to get started.

The Lions will officially open the regular season against Edmonton Saturday, June 28 which is the first of three afternoon games throughout the season.

The schedule includes three additional Saturday dates, four Friday-night games and a Sunday afternoon encounter against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in August.

“We are very happy with this year’s home schedule and we believe our fans will be as well,” said president and CEO Dennis Skulsky. “With an even split of Friday and Saturday dates I believe we took a big step toward achieving what our fans have told us they want for home dates and start times.”

The 2014 season will conclude with the Grey Cup at B.C. Place in Vancouver on Nov. 30 and the CFL pre-season starts June 9 and finishes June 20.
