Some might have questioned the move by the Ottawa Redblacks trading away the first overall selection to Calgary Stampeders, but they managed to get back in the first round selection.
Glenn had requested a trade out of Ottawa, due to the team signing another veteran QB, namely Henry Burris.
Glenn (five-foot-11, 205-pound) was 20-8 as a starter who replaced injured Drew Tate over two seasons with the Stamps and guided them to a Grey Cup berth in 2012 and top spot in the West Division in ’13 with a league-best record.
Blue Bombers
Staying with size for the O-line, the Bombers drafted SFU lineman 6-4, 294 lbs lineman Matthias Goossen second overall in the 2, who was ranked as the 9th prospect in April’s final CFL Scouting Bureau.
He spent four year’s with Simon Fraser and was named a GNAC First Team All-Conference selection three times during his collegiate career.
Matthias calls Richmond home and was also named a BSN Pre-Season All-American prior to the 2012 season.
Goossen pumped out an impressive 29 reps in the bench press at the 2014 CFL Combine in March, the fifth best total among all prospects.
