Garrison (27) recorded 33 points (16-17-33) and 32 penalty minutes in 77 games with the Florida Panthers last season.
With 16 goals during the 2011.12 season, Garrison set a (franchise) single season record among Defenceman while averaging 23:41 in time on ice.
In four playoff games, Garrison earned three points (1-2-3). The White Rock, British Columbia native has played 190 career NHL games with the Florida scoring 23 goals, 36 assists (23-36-59) and logging 81 penalty minutes.
The 6’2”, 220-pound undrafted d-man was signed by the Panthers in 2008 after three seasons with the University of Minnesota Duluth of the WCHA.
The Canucks have re-signed centre Andrew Ebbett and right wing Steve Pinizzotto.
Ebbett (29) appeared in 18 games for the Canucks in 2011.12, recording six points (5-1-6), including two overtime game-winners, and added six penalty minutes.
He has also played in 163 career NHL games over five seasons with Anaheim, Chicago, Minnesota, Phoenix and Vancouver. He has managed to collect 58 points (24-34-58) and 44 penalty minutes.
Pinizzotto (28) missed the entire 2011.12 season with the Canucks due to injury and spent the 2010-11 season with Washington’s (AHL) affiliate; the Hershey Bears.
He collected 42 points (17-25-42) and 178 penalty minutes in 68 games.
The 6’1”, 195 pound forward also appeared in six AHL playoff games, recording four points (2-2-4) and six penalty minutes.
He finished the regular season with the team’s best plus/minus at plus-40.
Prior to his tenure in the AHL, Pinizzotto spent two seasons with RIT.
In 2006.07, he led the team in scoring with 44 points (13-31-44).
The Mississauga, Ontario, native helped earn RIT the Atlantic Hockey regular season championship in 2007.
