Canucks Re-Sign Mason Raymond
Canucks President & GM Mike Gillis announced that the Canucks have re-signed Alberta’s left wing Mason Raymond. Raymond (26) collected 20 points (10-10-20) in 55 games played with Vancouver in 2011-12.
He also appeared in five post-season games, recording one point (0-1-1).
The Cochrane, Alberta native has registered 156 career points (70-86-156) over the span of 328 NHL games.
He was awarded the Fred J. Hume Award as the “Canucks Unsung Hero” in 2010 and was appointed to the NHL YoungStars Sophomore Team in 2009.
The signing is a one-year deal worth 2.275 million US before the club elected arbitration.
On the International stage, Raymond represented Canada at the 2010 World Championships.
The 6’0”, 185 lbs. forward was originally drafted by Vancouver in the second round, 51st overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft
One has to ask if he is really over his back injury from last year in the play-off’s when he was run from behind?
