Canucks Play-Off Match Up
The season was great if you are a Canuck fan and who on the West Coast isn’t? We waited and pondered, but the wait is finally over.
The Canucks will take on the rivals from Chicago. Yes – once again the match-up will see these two teams square off in a great round of hockey.
Let’s not forget that some on the Coast will be hoping for the Blackhaws, mainly due to tradition and others for the connection of players to this team.
Brent Seabrook calls South Delta home in the off-season, while Troy Brouwer calls North Delta home and both brought the Stanley Cup home last year.
The Blackhawks have the fire power and the likes of Patrick Sharpe and Jonathan Toews up front being back-stopped by a pair of sold D-men like Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith along with Marty Turko will be hard to penetrate.
The Canucks on the other hand have Daniel and Henrik, Ryan Kesler up front and the rear guard are Sami Salo, Dan Hamhuis and Christian Ehrhoff, and who can forget about Luongo.
Should be an interesting series and no doubt the Canucks was revenge along with pay-back for the previous losses.
Three Canucks who played solid all season long were key players in helping the team win the Presidents’ Trophy for posting the NHL’s overall best record.
In addition they managed to add individual awards as the regular season officially came to an end.
Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider grabbed the William Jennings Trophy as the goaltenders on the club allowing the fewest goals.
The Canucks released their 2011 Western Conference Quarter-Final Schedule against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Vancouver will host Chicago in a best of seven series starting Wednesday, April 13 at 7 p.m. Pacific at Rogers Arena.
