CANUCKS FOR KIDS FUND TELETHON
In today’s world for the most part it’s all about taking and not giving, but the Vancouver Canucks have taken the other approach and reversed this thought.
They fully know that the community is behind them and all they do, not only in the lower mainland, but the Province as well.
It’s not just about the players, they get help from their Wives and numerous others to help out when the time is right – and there is no time like the present to get involved.
The Vancouver Canucks media department sent the following release and it is with pride that we help them out in promoting this huge undertaking.
The Vancouver Canucks officially announce that more than $630,000 was raised for children’s charities across BC through the Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon.
It was presented by Chevrolet and with special “thanks” to the support of fans and partners.
The Telethon was held on Tuesday, March 24th when the Canucks faced the Winnipeg Jets and generated the second largest revenue total in the 25-year history of the event.
The Canucks for Kids Fund gratefully acknowledges the support of Canucks fans everywhere, as well as Chevrolet, Rogers, Fasken Martineau, Sportsnet, TSN 1040 and the Vancouver Sun.
One lucky donor will also win a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Z71, the Motor Trend Truck of the Year, donated by Chevrolet and the winner will be announced at a later date.
Funds raised through the Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon will be allocated to a number of charities in British Columbia that support children’s health and wellness, education and grassroots hockey.
The team’s primary beneficiaries are the Canucks Autism Network, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Fans can also still donate until the end of March at canucks.com/telethon.
