Canuck Promotion
Canucks President and General Manager Mike Gillis announced that defencemen Peter Andersson, Kevin Connauton, Derek Joslin and Chris Tanev, forwards Darren Archibald, Andrew Ebbett, Andrew Gordon, Zack Kassian, Anton Rodin, Jordan Schroeder and Bill Sweatt and goaltender Joe Cannata have been recalled from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Peter Andersson (21)
He has played 20 games for Chicago in the 2012.13 season recording two points (1-1-2) and eight penalty minutes. The 6’3”, 194-pound defenceman was drafted by Vancouver 143rd overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Kevin Connauton (22)
He has played 31 games for the Wolves in the 2012.13 season, recording nine points (2-7-9) and 48 penalty minutes. The 6’0”, 196 D-man has played 177 career AHL games with Vancouver’s affiliate teams, recording 65 points (26-39-65) and 65 penalty minutes since the 2010.11 season.
Derek Joslin (25)
He has played 29 games (with the Wolves) and managed five (5) points (2-3-5) and 14 penalty minutes. The 6’1”, 209-pound defenceman has played 114 career NHL games with San Jose and Carolina recording 16 points (4-12-16) and 63 penalty minutes.
Chris Tanev (23)
He has played 29 games with Chicago in 2012.13 recording 12 points (2-10-12) and eight penalty minutes. The 6’2”, 188 lb D-man has appeared in 54 career NHL games and registered three points (0-3-3) with two penalty minutes. Tanev also played in 10 NHL playoff games over the past two seasons.
Darren Archibald (22)
He has played 14 games with the Wolves this season (6-0-6) and 18 games with the Kalamazoo Wings (6-7-13).
The 6’3”, 210 LW was signed as a free agent by Vancouver on Dec. 13, 2010.
Andrew Ebbett (30)
He made his début with Vancouver in the 2011.12 season, playing 18 games, recording six points (5-1-6) and eight penalty minutes. The Calgary native played 163 (career) NHL games registering 58 points (24-34—58) and 44 penalty minutes.
He currently ranks second in team scoring with 21 points (7-14-21) in the 2012.13 AHL season.
Andrew Gordon (27)
He has played 31 games with Chicago this season recording 15 points (9-6-15) and 30 penalty minutes.
The 6’0”, 199-pound right-winger has played 49 career NHL games scoring seven points (3-4-7) with six penalty minutes between the Washington Capitals and Anaheim Ducks.
Zack Kassian (21)
He has played 28 games with Chicago this season and recorded 20 points (7-13-20) and 61 penalty minutes. In 17 career games with Vancouver registering three points (1-2-3) and 31 penalty minutes. The Windsor, ON, native was originally selected by the Buffalo Sabres 13th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Anton Rodin (22)
He has played 26 games with the Wolves in 2012.13 recording eight points (1-7-8) and eight penalty minutes.
In 88 career AHL games Rodin has scored 35 points (11-24-35) and recorded 26 penalty minutes. The 6’1”, 180-pound forward was selected by Vancouver 53rd overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Jordan Schroeder (22)
He has played 30 games for the Wolves in the 2012.13 season, recording 19 points (9-10-19) and eight penalty minutes. The 5’9”, 180-pound centre has played 178 career AHL games with the Chicago Wolves and Manitoba Moose, recording 100 points (44-56-100) and 36 penalty minutes.
Bill Sweatt (24)
He has played 27 games with Chicago this season recording nine points (4-5-9) and two penalty minutes. Sweatt has played 178 career AHL games and scored 89 points (39-50-89) and recorded 54 penalty minutes.
The 6’0”, 190-pound left-winger appeared in two games with Vancouver during the 2011.12 season.
Joe Cannata (23)
He has played one game with Chicago this season recording his second AHL win in as many games. In five games with the Kalamazoo Wings this season Cannata has a record of 2-3-0, a GAA of 3.63 and a save percentage of 0.892.
The 6’1”, 200-pound goaltender was selected 173rd overall by Vancouver in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
