An RBI single off the bat of newly-assigned 1B Nash Knight scored LF Jacob Anderson from second base in the top of the 4th inning that proved to be the game winning hit as the Canadians topped Tri-City 3-1 on Sunday afternoon, completing a three-game sweep of its North Division rival.
Vancouver would get 5 2/3 innings of four hit baseball from starter RHP Luis Sanchez (1-2) who finally got his elusive first win of the season.
Sanchez would strike out five and leave the game in the 6th inning up 2-1.
Relievers RHP Geno Encina (1.1IP); RHP Zach Jackson (1.0IP) and closer RHP Griffin Glaude (1.0IP) would pitch the final 3+ innings without allowing a run to cross on their watch.
Offensively, the Canadians were paced by 3B Bryan Lizardo (2-for-3) and LF Jacob Anderson (2-for-4) as the Canadians handed Tri-City starter LHP Will Headean his 4th loss of the season.
With the win, Vancouver improves to 3-3 (.500) on the second half, and trailed North Division leading Everett by 2 ½ games as they face the Indians later tonight in Spokane, WA.
