The Maple Ridge Burrards took a 3-2 series lead in their best of seven WLA playoffs with a 10-7 victory moving to within a game allowing them to meet the Shamrocks in the league finals.
The Burrards on the road played a steady with goalkeeper Frankie Scigliano en route to the win making a 28 save performance and the game winning goal scored by Ben McIntosh second of a three goal performance on the night early in the final period.
The first two periods saw the Burrards up by a 3 goals (6-3) with goals from Ben McIntosh (a pair) and singles to Riley Loewen, Mike Mallory Colton Porter and Tyler Codron.
The Lakers saw Justin Salt and Casey Jackson both with a pair and shots through 40 minutes were 30-25 for the Burrards.
Goalkeeper Frankie Scigliano of Maple Ridge managed 21 saves while Tyler Richards of the Lakers was credited with 24 on the night.
The final period the teams split the scoring four times and the Burrards got goals from Mike Mallory (a pair completing his hat trick) well Ben McIntosh grabbed a goal, finishing with four on the night.
The Lakers Pat Corrigan, Scott Jones, Robert Church and Tyler Digby rounded out the scoring with the final shots having the Burrards out shoot Burnaby 12-10 in the third.
The Burrards held this stat outshooting the Burrards by a 42-35 margin.
The Burrards lead the series 3-2 and can wrap up the series at the Cam Neely Arena with opening face-off set for 7:45.
Should a seventh and deciding game be required it will be played Monday at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre at 7:45pm.
