Boucher Take New Post

Published on

Having the Abbotsford Heat in our back yard allows us to not only see some upcoming stars of the NHL, but also see how and what the Coaches teach them.

Having watched him in Abby when he was with Hamilton, them moved on to coach in the NHL, them released, you knew he wouldn’t be without work for a lone time.

Boucher at the young age of 39 was once a coach in the QMJHL with the Drummondville Voltigeurs for three years, then moving on to the American Hockey League’s Hamilton Bulldogs which was the Montreal Canadiens’ top minor league affiliate.

He led Hamilton to the second-best record in the AHL then turned down a chance to coach the Columbus Blue Jackets before joining the Lightning.

Guy Boucher is now headed to Coach for the Swiss League as the new bench boss for SC Bern and he is excited about heading there for a “new lease on life”.

He had previously coached the Tampa Bay Lightning and had a record of 97-78-20 record over two-plus seasons with them

He was dismissed by the team last March after the Lightning struggled in the lockout-shortened season with a 13-18-1 record.

Sportswave wishes him all the best.
