Bottom of 9th Comeback

The C’s games at noon have become one of the more popular events in town from a fans perspective and given the 4,893 on hand we might see more nooner games in the cards.

The second half see’s the C’s thump Eugene by a 2-0 margin in front of a sell-out crowd of 5,016 solid Canadian’s supporters.

The one thing the C’s do is entertain, from the minute you enter the front gate.

Whether it’s in the play area for the kids or the entertainment in the stands, it’s worth spending time at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.
This series comes to an end with the C’s in hopes of evening this series up, prior to heading south of the 49^th to Everett.

The three game series at Everett Memorial Stadium see’s the C’s look at (like Sanford used to say) “Move-in On Up” which in all likelihood can be achieved.

Starting pitcher for the C’s sees Javier Avendano take to the mound, while Shepherd goes for Eugene. The game went scoreless for the first 6 innings with the C’s leaving two on base twice and Eugene stranding three.

The top of the 6^th saw Murphy retire to the dugout only to be replaced by Luke Scott, who took the 2-1 count only to be struck out to retire the side.

We (media) were told that Murphy had an arm injury so was unable to continue.

The bottom of the 6^th saw Tony Wieber who was selected 33^rd overall from Michigan State take over on the mound for Eugene to finish off the inning.

The C’s hit the diamond and change pitchers as well and send Colton Turner take to the hill and has recently returned from the DL.

The scoreless struggle see’s the C’s send the bottom part of the line-up to the plate and if anything, they have been the only part of the roster that has been producing today, but not this time.

The Canadians offense waited until the bottom of the 9^th inning to grab the series finale with 2B Derrick Chung hit a SF to deep right field that scored Leblebijian and saw him reached base to start off the inning on a throwing error by Eugene SS Jon Roof.

The winning run crossed the plate and the fans erupted with enthusiasm sending the C’s on the road with a great home win.

Great game and everyone was entertained on a hot summer day in mid-July.

With the victory, the Canadians improve to 2-2 (.500) on the Northwest League season while the Emeralds fall to 2-2 (.500).
