BC Soccer Honor’s 19
As an Association that was founded in 1907, it’s great to see them still honor those who make it all happen for today’s youth in BC.
BC Soccer has announced the 19 award winners who have shown a tremendous amount of commitment and passion for the beautiful game in British Columbia.
These administrators, officials, coaches, and players have dedicated days, weekends and evenings to soccer in British Columbia and BC Soccer would like to recognize their commitment through these awards.
“It is with great honor to present these awards to all of the recipients as they have devoted countless hours to bettering the game in British Columbia,” said Roger Barnes, BC Soccer President. “New this year is the Women of Distinction Award, and we think this is a wonderful addition and the inaugural winner, Michelle Pye who is refereeing at the 2015 Women’s World Cup Canada, should be incredibly proud”

BC Soccer would like to specially recognize Life Member award winner John Nielsen for his achievements in officiating at the provincial, national and international levels, along with his commitment and dedication to the education of referees in BC and Canada.
“John has been a dedicated member of the referee community in BC for a number of years, both as a referee himself and as an educator, mentor and valuable contributed to the development of the BC Soccer referee program as a whole,” said Jason Elligott, Acting Executive Director of BC Soccer. “He still remains actively involved with the national and international referee community, while sharing his knowledge locally in BC.”
BC Soccer will be presenting these awards to all of the recipients at the BC Soccer Annual General Meeting on June 13th at the Awards and Scholarship Luncheon.
