BC Golf Hires New President
British Columbia Golf is pleased to announce David Atkinson as their incoming President.
After a vote of the newly established, policy-focused Board of Directors, David becomes the first Public Players’ Club member to be President of British Columbia Golf.
“As a golf enthusiast and volunteer, I am extremely humbled to be selected as President of British Columbia Golf by my peers,” stated Atkinson.
“I believe that British Columbia Golf, in collaboration with our members and industry stakeholders, will continue to accomplish great successes for golf in British Columbia. I look forward to helping us achieve our goals as an organization.”
Atkinson comes to British Columbia Golf with a wealth of knowledge and expertise, possessing over 30 years of international business experience. David is currently the Executive Vice President and Board member of Synergy Engineering Ltd. as well as being active on the Golf Canada Human Resources Committee and in British Columbia Golf’s Public Players’ Club.
Joining David as Directors on the Board are Victoria’s Barry Petrachenko, Vancouver’s Michelle Collens, Summerland’s Edwin Helgason, Kelowna’s Kathleen MacKenzie and Kimberly MacAuley of Vancouver.
Fort St. John’s Jim McKinnon and Sechelt’s Helen Steeves will act as representatives for the newly created Zone Council with Immediate Past President Keith Larson of Kamloops rounding out the 9-person Board.
